A Behavioral Mental Health Facility partner of Total Medical Personnel Staffing is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse who is comfortable reassuring patients and their families and communicating with doctors as well as tending to the needs of his or her patients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for directing or supervising care delivered by mental health assistants/ technicians, and less-experienced RNs
• Administers medication and maintains clinical charts. Observes, records, and initiates appropriate action concerning client reaction to medication and therapeutic procedures
• Assists in assessment of clients’ mental status on a daily basis
• Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to adapt to working in different facilities is essential
• Preference given to those with 1 year or more of RN experience
• RN license or equivalent education
• Preferred knowledge and experience working with administration of psychotropic medications
• Preferred knowledge of psychiatric nursing, practices, techniques and procedures
• Preferred experience working in a psychiatric setting
• Preferred certification in mental health nursing
